Laura began sewing doll clothes as a child and then moved on to making her own garments and sewing projects for neighbors. She found a lifelong interest in quilting when she took her first sampler quilt class in 1979. In 1980, she found a new quilt shop and friend, Diana McClun (co-owner of the quilt shop). That friendship led to 5 landmark books on quilt making.

Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!! is often referred to as "the bible" of quilt making. More information about Laura.
